Projections show that by 2020 as many as two-thirds of all jobs will require some type of postsecondary education. Postsecondary attainment currently stands at about 40 percent in Indiana.
EWIN is building important partnerships among schools, communities, economic development, business, industry and postsecondary institutions to develop transparent career pathways. Effective pathways serve to educate, inspire and better prepare Indiana’s students for real- world futures.
Transparent means students have opportunities to explore, experience first-hand, understand the demand for and compare potential rewards of different types of careers. Plus, they know step-by- step the education and training needed to qualify.
EWIN introduces regional partnerships to the data, educational options, strategies and best practice models that will help them build their own customized programs. Whether incorporating apprenticeships, internships, technical certifications, academies, Early College high schools including P-TECH and CTE models – EWIN connects groups to resources and facilitates development of career pathways and programming for each community’s needs and resources.
One size does not fit all. EWIN’s role is to help regions build career pathways that fit them.
